TIGRES PARENTS & ATHLETES
Just a few quick reminders and announcements as we are now less then a week away from the official start of the 2017 season!
You will start receiving emails on a frequent basis starting with this one. You can also expect emails from your coaches to begin this week. All athletes/parent email addresses have been added to email distribution lists for both club wide communication as well as appropriate age group/coach communication – and so you will be getting emails for Tigres team wide updates and emails from the coach of the age group your athlete is registered with. You can add other email addresses to the lists at any time by simply going to this page: https://www.venturatigres.org/stay-updated/ and on the right side you will see the opt-in form to enter your email address – be sure to tick “General Tigres Alerts” as well as each applicable age group. This is the best way to ensure you dont miss anything important.
PARENT MEETING
Next Monday (2/6) at 7:00 pm is our parent meeting. It will be held in the Buena High Cafeteria. This meeting is helpful for all – not just if you are new to Tigres as there are minor changes within the club and the conference every year. In addition to the presentation we have prepared, head coaches will go over their season and what to expect with you. There will also be an apparel table set up we will have sample uniforms for you to see and select your sizes
For this parent meeting – we ask if at all possible to leave your kids at home (if old enough or with alternative supervision). We understand if this is not possible, and rather you attend with your young children then not attend at all.
PRACTICE
The first practice will begin the following day (Tuesday 2/7) at Arroyo Verde Park. This first week of practice will be at Arroyo Verde park – then we will move to the Buena High track for the rest of our practices (with the exception of Buena Soccer having a game but we will make those announcements as they happen). The practice schedule has been posted (https://www.venturatigres.org/practice/) but coaches will be emailing you all to let you know as well.
AGE VERIFICATIONS
The league requires us to verify the date of birth for all of our athletes, and to that end, if your athlete is new to Tigres this year and you havent provided a copy of a birth certificate – we must have this before the first day of practice next Tuesday.
- Log back into your account on Blue Sombero (where you registered) and upload a photo of the birth certificate.
- E-mail a photo of the birth certificate to Kim Prieto – our registration coordinator – at kimberlyprieto@yahoo.com
- Bring the birth certificate with you to the parent meeting on 2/6.
