Hi Parents,

In yesterday’s email, I explained the event limit for Finals and Championships (formally known as JV and Varsity), incorrectly.  Please see below for the correct explanation.

An athlete can compete in as many events that they qualify for in the Championships meet.  If they qualify for 2, 4, 8 or every event, they can participate in all of those events.

League Finals West meet does not require qualification and the event limits are the same for our regular meets.

However, an athlete may not run the same event in both meets.  For example, if they qualify for the 400 in the Championships, they can not run the 400 in the Finals meet.

They must have participated in an event in our regular season to participate it in Finals and Championships (this is a given for Championships because they have to have a qualifying time)

If an athlete qualifies for the 100 or 200 in Championships, they can not run the 4×100  in League Finals.

If an athlete qualifies for the 400 in Championships, they can not run the 4×400 in League Finals.

Clear as mud, right?:)

Warmly,

Coach Carol
