Fifth Annual Austin Gambill Memorial Practice Meet this Saturday, February 28

Each Tigres family should have received their volunteer assignment confirmation (either by text or email) through the RunFaster website for our Fifth Annual Austin Gambill Practice Meet this Saturday, February 28 at the Buena High School track. You must confirm your volunteer assignment each week we have a home meet.

This practice meet will give all our parent volunteers a chance to be trained for their volunteer job for the season. Please expect delays at this meet while everyone works out the kinks. Thank you to everyone for your help and patience!

For this meet (and all other home meets), only designated volunteers with the correct badge are allowed on the infield of the track. Parents (who are not volunteering) are not allowed on the infield under any circumstances.

For volunteers —

You must check in on your phone on RunFaster when you arrive at the meet and then report to your volunteer assignment. If you have any questions, please go to the Volunteer Tent next to the entrance of the track.

All athletes new to Tigres this season need to verify their age in order to compete per rules of Ventura County Youth Track Conference (VCYTC). Only athletes whose ages have been verified will be able to compete. Returning athletes have been age-verified in past seasons and are all set. If you have yet to verify, please contact our Registration Coordinator, Susan Henson, at registration@venturatigres.org or at practice this week.

Schedule for Saturday

6:45 a.m — Set Up Volunteers Arrive

7:45 a.m. — All other Volunteers Arrive. ALL SHIFTS for this meet are only AM. There are no PM shifts. (10:30 a.m. — Take down volunteers begin)

Please check in on RunFaster when you arrive, then report to the volunteer tent to get your badge, and then report to your appropriate locations for your volunteer role so you can receive training information prior to the start of the meet. Also, volunteers must check out with the volunteer tent after your shift so you can be confirmed and receive credit.

8:30 a.m. — Meet start time

(Coaches will be in contact about arrival times for athletes.)

The meet should end around 1 pm, but please expect possible delays of up to an hour. Thank you!

Athletes should wear their uniforms and bring their own water bottles.

If your athlete still needs a uniform you will be able to purchase uniforms for a short time before the meet begins from 7:30 to 7:45 a.m. You can also purchase uniforms during practice this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Other team merchandise will be available throughout the meet.
