Parents,

Your athletes performed amazingly yesterday! So many kids bested their times, myself and the other coaches were just astounded. You know its a good meet when the coaches are constantly asking each other “did you see that?”. The Tigre Gremlins definitely showed up to perform, and perform they did. Please show your athlete their results, they should definitely feel pride in their performance.

We have quite a few athletes in a varsity spot or sitting borderline. For those of you not aware, lane events are top 8 and the 800m/1600m are top 12. Every year I have been lucky enough to coach athletes that push hard and this year is no different. If your athlete is top 8, 12, or borderline please encourage them to keep running these events. There are plenty of races left in the season to secure a spot.

Moving forward, it is imperative that athletes not only show up to all practices, but show up on time. This is still an issue. An abundance of late athletes is very distracting to those that have started on time. Also, practice is where the athlete can work out the kinks. Tuesday specialty is long jump and this is the only day Gremlins have the pit. Thursday specialty is relay. When athletes haven’t had the opportunity to practice they have little confidence in their ability. I don’t expect every athlete to hold a varsity spot, but I do expect that the athlete be given the opportunity to succeed. These athletes are amazing and myself and the other coaches love watching them improve week to week. Let’s keep it up!!!

Coach Michelle
