Gremlins – help needed for Thursday
Hi Families,
Just a reminder that we are having our “fun” practice tomorrow at Buena! If I could have 6 parents (or more!) bring 100ish water balloons the kids would absolutely love it!! Please email me tonight, gremlins@venturatigres.org, if you can help!
Thanks!
Kristin
Gremlins – upcoming week!
What a fantastic (and crazy late!) meet on Saturday!! I hope your Gremlins all were able to crash as soon as they got home! We have some more adventure on the horizon for this week. This Thursday will be our “fun” practice; please be ready for some hyper Gremlins in the car on the way home! Practice should end close to 6:00 on both days this week. We also have a Tigres picnic in planning, but more on this as we have finalized details.
Unfortunately for most of our athletes this will be their final week of practice, and Saturday’s meet (check in time at 8:00 at Oxnard HS) will be their last meet for the 2018 season. We do have athletes moving on to the Conference Championship Meet on May 5th. Preliminary standings are currently up on athletic.net (accessible under Top Marks at the bottom of the Meet Results page on our website). Please refer to the previous information on the Tigres website regarding the final meets.
I completely understand that the end of season can be confusing, so feel free to ask if you have any questions.
See you soon,
Kristin
Gremlins – meet today
Hi All,
Quick reminder that we are checking in today at 2:30 for our meet. We are going to go down to the field almost immediately to start warming up for the long jump, so please try to be on time if you have a long jumper (all but 4 kids LOL!)
The evening weather will be cool (especially if your athlete is running the 800 or the 200) so please bring warm clothing for tonight.
See you soon!

Gremlins – Pictures at Arroyo TODAY
Just a quick reminder that our pictures and practice will be at Arroyo Verde today. We are scheduled to take pictures at 4:30, so please have your athlete arrive early and in uniform so we can arrange the kids.
Thanks and see you soon!

Gremlins – Location change and Picture day
Hi Families,
Due to a meet tomorrow at Buena, the location of our practice has changed to Arroyo Verde. YES, we are still having PICTURE DAY! Pictures are at 4:30 at the concrete steps on the left hand side of the park (near the back). Parking in that upper lot will probably be easiest. Please be on time (closer to 4:25) and have your athlete in their Tigres running uniform. If they wear a shirt under their singlet, try to have it be either white or black.
Thanks so much!
Kristin
Gremlins – meet time and end of season information
Hello All,
Just a quick note that Saturday’s start time has shifted to 3:00, so we will meet at 2:30 in the stands. Also, please read the important information on the final season meets that is posted on the Tigres website. If you have any questions, email me at gremlins@venturatigres.org
See you tomorrow,
Kristin
Gremlins – Picture day and upcoming week
Hi Gremlin Families,
What a fun meet we had yesterday! Your athletes are amazing, and I am so proud of their performances and their behavior. As we are coming towards the end of our season, I would love to have more time with them, so please anticipate that practice will be finishing closer to 6:00. Also this week, we have our team picture day at 4:30 on Thursday. Please be on time, have your athlete in their running uniform, and if they wear an undershirt it would be great if it was black or white for continuity.
Our meet on Saturday is our final “regular” meet! Saturday will have a start time of 3:00 pm, so please plan on being there at 2:30 pm. This is the last week for your athletes to try a new event!
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
See you soon,
Kristin
Gremlins – meet tomorrow!
Hi Gremlin families,
Just a quick reminder that we are meeting at 8:00 at Buena tomorrow where we will be hosting the Ojai Roadrunners. We will be heading down to long jump early, so if your athlete is a jumper (aka 95% of them!), please try to arrive on time. Ojai has a small team, so I am anticipating a fun and fast paced meet. Knowing our unpredictable weather, please plan and pack accordingly with water, snacks, sunscreen, and warm clothes.
See you soon,
Kristin
Gremlins – 4/12 (Thursday) practice location change
Hi Gremlin families,
Just a quick reminder that due to the meet at Buena tomorrow, we will be practicing at Arroyo Verde Park. Practice will be shorter since we will not be able to practice relay, so we should be done by 5:30.
I will have the sign ins and event sign ups on a table at the park. If you will not be there tomorrow, please email me the events that your athlete has chosen for this week.
Thanks!
Kristin
Gremlins – upcoming week
Hi Gremlin Families!
I hope you all had a fun weekend; I missed seeing our Gremlin athletes at the Invitational!
The next two weeks of practice are very important, as we all are striving to help your athletes reach their goals for the season. Practice on THURSDAY is changing locations to ARROYO VERDE since Buena is hosting a track meet that day. This close to the end of the season, we do not want to miss a day!
We have two “regular” meets left in the season, and both are at home! These are the last two meets for your athletes to earn a position in the Championships. When you see the sign-in sheets for our upcoming home meet with the Ojai Roadrunners, you will see that for some of the athletes, their events are highlighted. If the color is yellow, they are likely to advance to Championships in that event, if the color is blue, they are on the cusp of advancing, and if they are interested in that event, they should probably run it again. Along with the color, there is a small number which is their current placement in the league. If your athlete does advance, the Championships are on May 5th and the top finishers out of that day will move on to May 12th.
With the top 9 in the 100, 200, 400, and long jump advancing and the top 12 in the 800 and the 1600 moving on, the number of athletes qualifying for Championships is small and for most, their last meet will be on April 28. The April 28th meet is a fantastic event where the athletes get to shine, and many have their best races on that final day.
There is still time for your athlete to try something new, so please talk to them about what else they want to accomplish this season!
If you have any questions, please feel free to email, call, or catch me by the fence 🙂
