We will be practicing on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:00.  Every athlete that participated in the Conference Championship meet on Saturday should come to practice this week until we have a firm answer on who has qualified.  The top four (plus the better 5th place mark between the VCYTC and SCYTFC) in laned events and field events, along with the top 8 in distance events (800, 1600 and 3200) move on to the CCC meet on Saturday at Ventura High School.  However, there is a chance that athletes who finish outside of those places may move on to compete.  Athletes are only allowed to compete in four events (with a max of 3 individual events and 1 relay) so some athletes will have to drop events and others may just choose not to compete in some events.  If an athlete(s) in the top 4 or 8 choose to drop an event, the next place will move up into that spot.  Some events may have multiple drops.  We should find out in the next couple of days who has officially moved on.

Also, all athletes that participated in the Conference Championship – please email midgets@venturatigres.org and let us know what events you plan to participate in on Saturday at the CCC if eligible.  As a reminder, it is 4 total events, of which 3 can be individual.  You can run 2 individual plus 2 relays or 3 individual plus 1 relay.  Individual events can be running or field events.

One other piece of great news.  Two of our 4×400 teams that competed at League Finals qualified for the CCC meet by having a time to beat enough teams in the Conference Championship meet.  Congratulations!!!  The following athletes who were on those teams should also come to practice this week.

Girls – Chelsea Ochoa, Jocelyn Thomas, Ryan Maquanalez and Sofia Stepan

Boys – Vincent Mueller, Justin DeLeon, Braden Herrera and Merric Bayless
