What a great first meet for the Tigres Midgets!
VCYTC meets do not officially score team results, but every week we will posting what the scoring would be using the standard High School dual track meet scoring system. So, our Tigres did a great job vs a very good Newbury Park team.
The girls team won 49-38 while our boys team won 83-17.
There were some amazing individual performances as well, with the following athletes achieving the Varsity standard in the very first meet of the year:
Calvin Turville – 3200
Lauren Kearney – 1600
Cory Whitcomb – 400m
Derek Eidson – 800m
Derek Pekar – High Jump
Kali Garibay – Shot Put
We also had quite a few other athletes that came very close to the Varsity mark as well as many PR’s from last year. Most importantly, we saw some excellent sportsmanship being displayed by the Midgets.
