Sad as is may be, tomorrow will be the last meet for most of us as we head to Fillmore High School for our JV Finals meet! Heritage Valley Blazers will be hosting us “WEST” JV Finals along with Camarillo Cosmos & Oxnard Stars. As meet host, the Blazers have sent us information about the meet such as their rules and logistics of the meet. They realize its tight quarters and are doing everything they can to relax the situation but there is only so much they can do. They have managed to secure extra parking at adjacent properties such as the middle school and the city park. They are making other accommodations as well but are still going to rely on lots of cooperation and understanding for these things out of their control.
Understandably, the small area for both parking and spectating can make for a tense situation as you also want to make sure you can find your athlete and watch their events. Please read the attached PDF on the meet and please dont hesitate to track down a coach, or board member if you have any concerns or questions during the meet. Just remember we are all here – parents, coaches, and all the other clubs for the same reason, and we all want to watch our kids end the season on a positive note and we can make sure that happens!
Heritage Valley is planning to present the athletes with their JV Finals Ribbons at the meet, shortly after each event. If for technical reasons not all of them can get handed out – the remaining ribbons will be collected by each club – and for Tigres, we plan to then present them to each athlete at our traditional end of the season team picnic which will be Sunday, May 17th at the VUSD Service Facility/Field on Stanley Ave (same place as Summerfest for those familiar with that event). More info on that will be forthcoming.
